Owlman is a recurring villain in the DC Comics multiverse, a dark mirror of Batman from an alternate reality. He first appeared in *Justice League of America #29* (1964).
Typically, Owlman hails from Earth-Three, where the heroes and villains are reversed. He is Thomas Wayne Jr., the elder brother of that world's deceased Bruce Wayne. After witnessing his parents' murder ( orchestrated by his brother in one version), he becomes a criminal mastermind using his intellect and technology.
Unlike Batman, Owlman's methods are often ruthless and he frequently collaborates with other evil counterparts of the Justice League to form the Crime Syndicate.
Several versions of Owlman exist, each with slightly different origins and motivations but all sharing the core characteristics of a brilliant, yet amoral, dark reflection of Batman.
